The best Teamer alternatives for UK teams and clubs

Teamer closed on Monday 5 October 2026, and its team pages, accounts and data went with it. Here are the apps UK teams have moved to, what each does well, and how to rebuild your squad without starting from memory.

The short answer: who each one suits

Dyno
Clubs with several teams, juniors or subs to collect, who want match day in the same app as everything else.
Pitchero
Clubs that put the public website first and the members’ app second.
Spond
Coaches and volunteers organising a single team who only need scheduling and chat.
Heja
Single teams that want a free, simple app for the schedule, availability and chat.
SportEasy
Teams that want availability and line-ups free for a squad of up to 30, with stats on Premium.

What to look for in a Teamer replacement

Availability that chases for you

Finding out who can play is the job Teamer did best. Look for an app that asks every player, lets a parent answer for their children, and chases whoever hasn’t replied, so the captain doesn’t have to.

Picking and announcing the side

Some apps stop at a yes or a no. Others let you pick from whoever said yes and tell the squad, including the player who isn’t in this week.

Match fees and subs to the club

Check how fees are collected (card, Apple Pay, Direct Debit), whether the money lands in the club’s own account, and whether a fee is added to what players pay.

Parents and juniors

For a junior section, check that one parent can answer and pay for several children, and that young players’ details stay off public pages.

Chat people actually read

Whatever you pick has to replace the group chat, or the WhatsApp group will quietly take over again.

A way out if it ever closes

Teamer had no export. Before you commit, check that you can download your squad and your payment history yourself.

Each alternative in more detail

Dyno

Dyno is club software with a real member app. Its Matchday bolt-on runs the fixtures: availability asked and chased for you, the side picked from whoever said yes, everyone told, then the score and the appearances. The same app takes subs and match fees, runs training and juniors, and keeps the club’s chat in one place.

Best for: Clubs with several teams, juniors or subs to collect, who want match day in the same app as everything else.

Where Dyno isn’t the right pick

  • If you run one team and only used Teamer for availability and chat, a free app such as Spond or Heja will probably suit you better. Dyno has no free plan.
  • Match day (availability, selection and results) is a bolt-on at £25 a month on Starter and Growth, and included on Pro.
  • If a full club website with league tables and sponsors is what you need most, Pitchero is built around exactly that.
  • Dyno is newer than the other apps here, so it has a shorter track record.
Moving from Teamer to Dyno, step by step

Pitchero

Pitchero is club software for grassroots sports clubs, built around a club website with fixtures, results, league tables and news. Its Club app handles availability, team selection, messaging and match fees, and the paid packages add payments by card or Direct Debit. It belongs to the same group as Teamer, which closed and sent its users to Pitchero.

Best for: Clubs that put the public website first and the members’ app second.

Pitchero vs Dyno, feature by feature

Spond

Spond is a free communication and scheduling app widely used by grassroots sports teams, with group messaging, availability polls and event organising, and membership payments through Spond Club. It is built around organising a team, not running a club as a business: it is not a class-booking or ticketing engine, and the free app is funded by fees on payments.

Best for: Coaches and volunteers organising a single team who only need scheduling and chat.

Spond vs Dyno, feature by feature

Heja

Heja is a team management and communication app that says it’s trusted by more than 500,000 teams. The free plan, supported by ads, covers the schedule, availability, team messaging and one admin. Team Pro, priced per team, adds more admins, attendance statistics, reminders and payments in the app, and clubs with several teams can ask for club pricing.

Best for: Single teams that want a free, simple app for the schedule, availability and chat.

SportEasy

SportEasy is a team and club management app used by clubs in the UK and across Europe. The free Basic team plan, with ads and up to 30 members, covers availability, events, messages and line-ups, and Premium adds unlimited members, statistics and no ads. Club plans are priced per member, with a month’s free trial.

Best for: Teams that want availability and line-ups free for a squad of up to 30, with stats on Premium.

Common questions

What’s the best alternative to Teamer?

It depends on what you used it for. Teamer itself points to Pitchero, which is in the same group and offers Teamer organisers any package free for six months; it suits clubs that want a full website with their fixtures and results. A single team that only needs free availability and chat will be at home on Spond or Heja. A club with several teams, juniors and subs to collect is where Dyno fits, though we make it, so we would say that.

When did Teamer close?

On Monday 5 October 2026. Teamer says its team pages, accounts and stored data are no longer available, and that it was a planned closure, not an outage.

Can I still get my squad out of Teamer?

No. Teamer had no export tool, and since it closed its team pages and member data can’t be retrieved. Rebuild the squad in a spreadsheet from your group chat, contact lists and league registrations. Dyno can import that spreadsheet or invite your players by email.

Is there a free Teamer alternative?

Yes. Spond is free to use, with no software fee. Heja and SportEasy have free plans with ads, and Pitchero has a free package for one team, without payment processing. Dyno isn’t free: plans start at £39 a month, and every new club gets 30 days of Pro first, with no card needed.

Is Pitchero the same company as Teamer?

Yes. Both belong to the Pitchero Group, which closed Teamer to focus on Pitchero and PitcheroGPS. Teamer points its users to Pitchero and offers Teamer organisers any Pitchero package free for six months, after which the normal price applies, with no contract.

Which Teamer alternatives take Direct Debit?

Of the apps here, Pitchero collects Direct Debit through GoCardless for recurring payments such as subs, though not for match fees, and Dyno collects it for memberships and subs through Stripe. Match fees go by card or wallet in both.

Can I get my data out of Dyno if I ever leave?

Yes. You can export member lists and transaction history to CSV from the dashboard at any time, and there’s no long-term contract.
