Karate school and club management software
Karate clubs in the UK run on grades, gradings and licences, usually in a hired hall and usually with as many children as adults. Dyno is karate club software that keeps all three on each student’s record, alongside the memberships, the timetable and the money.
Every style grades through kyu grades counting down to 1st kyu, then dan grades counting up from 1st dan. Beyond that, styles and associations differ: Shotokan, Wado-ryu, Goju-ryu, Shito-ryu and Kyokushin clubs use different belt colours, some start beginners at 10th kyu and others at 9th or 8th, and some associations add extra junior grades. In many associations, kyu grades are examined in the club and dan grades by an association panel. Dyno doesn’t assume any of it. You build the grade track in your own order and colours, with the syllabus for each grade.
Most clubs belong to an association that issues an annual licence to each student, often with insurance, and won’t let anyone grade without a current one. Dyno tracks each licence from application to active with a reminder 30 days before it lapses. Registering students with your association still happens on its own system.
Children are often half of a karate club, so each child sits under a parent’s account with no email or login of their own. The parent books classes, completes the PAR-Q, signs the waiver and pays, and instructors see emergency contacts and medical notes on the register. Messages from an instructor to a child go to the parent instead.
Plenty of karate clubs train in a school or community hall they don’t own. Nothing in Dyno needs fixed hardware: the check-in kiosk is a web page on whichever tablet you bring, instructors can tick students in on the register instead, and members carry their pass on their phone.
Gradings, visiting-instructor courses and club competitions run as ticketed events with a capacity, a member price and a non-member price. Promotion from the roster can be one student or the whole grading, every promotion stays on the student’s history, and progression is free on every plan.
Dig into the features behind it: grade progression, licences, waivers and PAR-Q, family accounts, gradings and courses as events.
