No-gi before work
The morning class is on the timetable with a capacity. Students scan the QR on their pass at a tablet by the mat and are marked present on that class’s register.
How check-in worksEach belt carries the techniques a student needs to show. Coaches assess them on the mat, and the roster shows who has covered everything for the next belt.

Students see their current belt in the app and are congratulated when they are promoted.

Students book the class, get a pass for the door and a reminder before it starts.

List gis in A1 to A4 and the rest of the academy kit, take payment when they order and hand it over at the next class.

New members, cancellations, attendance and members who are paying but have not booked in a month.

You opened it to teach jiu-jitsu. Here is where the rest of the week goes.
Eight regulars before work, the mats still cold. The best hour of the day.
A packed beginners’ class and a room of blue belts drilling for next month’s comp.
Who was due a stripe? Which visitor paid the mat fee? Two direct debits bounced and someone wants to freeze for an injured knee.
The stripe list lives in a notebook, the kids’ belts in a spreadsheet and the waivers in a box. None of it is jiu-jitsu.
When belts and stripes sit on a roster with the techniques behind them, fees renew themselves and the injured purple belt’s membership pauses with a restart date, the late nights stop.
Coach the roll. Leave the admin to Dyno.
Memberships, payments, bookings and check-in, plus a member app and a club website carrying your name. Put your club in it and have a look around.
Riverside Martial ArtsYour team runs the whole club from here: memberships, payments, bookings, check-in and the numbers behind them.
Belts, memberships, classes and money in one dashboard, so promotions are on record and fees are not a conversation on the mat.

One app for booking a class, checking in, seeing their belt and buying a new gi.

Early no-gi, kids after school, fundamentals and advanced at night, an open mat at the weekend and a stripe night every few weeks.
The morning class is on the timetable with a capacity. Students scan the QR on their pass at a tablet by the mat and are marked present on that class’s register.
How check-in worksRun the IBJJF kids’ belts as their own track: white, then grey, yellow, orange and green, each in its white-bar, solid and black-bar versions if you use them. Parents book from their own login and children appear on the register by name.
How belt progression worksA student on a fundamentals membership only sees the classes that tier can book. When they are ready for the advanced class, move them to unlimited and Dyno works out the difference on their next payment.
How membership tiers workCoaches assess students against the techniques you set for each stripe or belt. The roster’s Ready to promote list shows who is there, and you promote them together with a note. Each student gets a printable certificate if you switch them on.
How promotions workPut the open mat on with a member price and a visitor price. Visiting players from other academies book as a guest on your club page and pay by card, and members-only classes stay members-only.
How events and classes workMemberships renew by card or UK Direct Debit into your Stripe account, with reminders to the student if a payment fails. When someone is injured, pause their membership from their profile with a restart date, up to 90 days unless you set a different limit.
How payments workGi and no-gi on alternate nights, a fundamentals curriculum for the first months and a comp team.
Jiu-jitsu beside Muay Thai, boxing and MMA classes.
After-school classes by age group, a kids’ belt track, parents booking and paying from one login, and a family discount from the second child on Starter and up.
Run the whole club from one login. No bolt-ons, no juggling five tools, nothing to reconcile at the end of the month.
UK Direct Debit collected automatically, with failed payments retried for you. Cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay too, all landing in your club's own account, never ours.
Members, payments, bookings, check-in, your member app and club chat. All included, all talking to each other from day one.
No onboarding call and no setup fee. Most clubs take their first payment the same day they sign up.
Hear from the people running their clubs on Dyno.
Before Dyno we were juggling a Facebook group, a spreadsheet of subs and cash in hand payments that were impossible to track. Now the whole club lives in one place, monthly memberships collect themselves, parents book gradings straight from their phones, and I can message a full class in seconds. It has handed me back the couple of hours every week I used to lose to admin, so I can actually focus on teaching. For a club our size it has been a genuine game-changer.

Annual Growth and Pro plans come with a 30-day money-back guarantee. Every member payment includes Dyno processing fees of 1.9% + 25p on cards, 1% + 20p capped at £4 on Direct Debit and 1% + 20p capped at £5 on a first payment made from the member’s bank, deducted from your takings and never added on top of your price. Commercial, business and non-UK cards cost more to process, so on those payments you pay what Stripe charges instead. Dyno takes 0% platform fee on every plan. Your club receives the rest, paid straight to your Stripe balance. See the pricing page for a worked example. VAT charged where applicable.
Brazilian jiu-jitsu has a belt system unlike any other martial art: only five adult belts, years between them, and stripes on the way that matter to students as much as the belts do. Dyno is BJJ gym software that records all of it. Each belt and each stripe is a level on a track with its own colour, every promotion is kept with its date and a note, and students see their rank in the app.
Under the IBJJF system, adults go white, blue, purple, brown and black, with up to four stripes on each belt before black. Children up to 15 have their own belts, grey, yellow, orange and green, and move onto the adult belts at 16, with minimum ages for purple, brown and black. Academies that don’t compete under the IBJJF often promote in their own way, and Dyno doesn’t enforce either: you build the tracks, and readiness comes from the techniques your coaches tick off, not from attendance or time since the last stripe.
The rest of an academy’s week is classes and money. Gi, no-gi, fundamentals, advanced, kids and open mat sit on one timetable with capacities, membership tiers decide who can book what, and visitors can book an open mat as a guest. Fees renew by card or UK Direct Debit through Stripe into the academy’s own account, with a 0% platform fee on every plan.
Rolling is contact, and a lot of academies teach children, so the paperwork matters. Require your waiver and a PAR-Q before a membership can be bought, track association licences from application to active with a reminder 30 days before they lapse, and keep coaches’ DBS and first-aid records on the dashboard with renewal reminders.
Dig into the features behind it: belt and stripe progression, membership tiers, waivers, PAR-Q and licences, the club shop.

Most academies set up in an evening and move students across over a few weeks, while the old system keeps collecting.
Start from the belt syllabus template or build your own: the adult belts with stripes as levels between them, and a separate kids’ track. Add the techniques for each if you assess against a curriculum.
Promote each student to the belt and stripe they hold today, so their history on Dyno starts from there.
Fundamentals, unlimited, kids, family and student tiers at today’s prices, then gi, no-gi, kids’ classes and open mats linked to the tiers that can book them.
Upload your member list, with children under their parent. Direct Debits collected through GoCardless move to Stripe without students signing anything.
30 days of Pro free, no card needed. Build your belt tracks tonight and invite students when you are ready.
