A padel club needs every court bookable by the slot, members and pay and play side by side, Americanos and coaching on the same courts, and money that reaches the club without a cut on the way. Here’s how the booking systems UK clubs use compare, and which suits whom.

What matters

What to look for in padel booking software

Every court, bookable by the slot

Each court should have its own hours and slot length, with no two bookings on the same court, and players should see what’s free tonight and take it without ringing the club.

Members and pay and play side by side

Most clubs keep some courts or hours for members and sell the rest to anyone. Check that each court can decide who books it, and that court hours can be sold singly or in packs.

Whose app players book in

Some systems put your courts in a marketplace app that also shows players every other club nearby. Others give your club its own space. Decide which you want before you commit.

What comes off each payment

Some platforms take a fee on every booking on top of the card processing, and some add a charge for players. Get both figures in writing, and work them out over a year’s takings.

Memberships on Direct Debit

Peak, off-peak and junior memberships renew monthly, which suits Direct Debit. Check whether it’s built in or needs a provider you sign up to separately.

Americanos, leagues and coaching

The club nights, box leagues and clinics that fill quiet hours should run on the same courts and in the same app as ordinary bookings, with caps and waitlists.

In detail

Each platform in more detail

Dyno

Dyno runs court booking, coaching sessions and memberships for racket clubs with no platform fee: card, Apple Pay, Google Pay and UK Direct Debit through Stripe, and Dyno takes nothing on top of the processing rate. Members and parents book, pay and hear from the club in a native app, juniors included.

Best for: Racket clubs that want courts, coaching, juniors and club messaging in one app, with no platform fee.

ClubSpark

ClubSpark is venue software from ClubSpark Group Ltd in London, offered free to LTA-registered tennis venues and used by other national sports bodies. It handles court booking, coaching, memberships and competitions through each venue’s web pages. It’s paid for by a ClubSpark fee taken from every payment on top of Stripe’s or GoCardless’s, members book in a separate Booker app that can’t yet book for juniors, and a branded app costs extra.

Best for: LTA-registered tennis venues that mainly need free court booking and will give up a fee on every payment for it.

P

Playtomic

Playtomic Manager is club software from Playtomic, which says more than 6,700 clubs use it. Members book in Playtomic’s own app, the same one they use to find courts at other venues. There’s no free plan, customer memberships, coaches and courses wait until the third of its four paid tiers, and its pricing page shows neither prices nor what it takes from bookings, so ask for both in writing.

Best for: Clubs that want their courts in a large player marketplace, and are happy for members to book in Playtomic’s app.

M

MATCHi

MATCHi is a booking system for racket sports venues from Gothenburg in Sweden, and Game4Padel’s booking partner in the UK since 2022. It handles one-off bookings, courses, leagues and memberships, with players booking in the MATCHi app alongside every other MATCHi venue. Its pages don’t say how venues are charged or who processes payments, so both are questions for its sales team.

Best for: Multi-court venues that want bookings, courses, leagues and court-light automation in one system.

P

Padel Mates

Padel Mates, from Padel Mates International AB, is a player app for finding games and booking courts, with club booking built in. Players book and pay for courts, coaching and ball-machine courts in the app and can split the cost, and the app sells players its own Pro subscription. Its public pages say little about the club side: what the software does for staff, and how clubs pay for it, are questions for Padel Mates.

Best for: Clubs whose players already use Padel Mates to find games, and want bookings in the same app.

FAQ

Common questions

What’s the best padel booking system for a UK club?

It depends on what you want the system to do. Playtomic puts your courts in front of players in a large marketplace app, and MATCHi runs bookings and courses for a number of UK venues. ClubSpark is free to LTA-registered venues, paid for by a fee on every payment. For a club that wants courts, memberships, coaching and club chat in one app with no platform fee, Dyno is built for exactly that.

Is there free padel court booking software?

ClubSpark is free for LTA-registered venues, paid for by a ClubSpark fee on every payment on top of Stripe’s or GoCardless’s. Every new club gets 30 days of Dyno Pro free, with no card needed; after that, plans start at £39 a month, with court booking from Growth at £99.

Which padel booking systems take Direct Debit?

ClubSpark takes Direct Debit through GoCardless, set up in its membership module, and Dyno through Stripe, at 1% + 20p capped at £4 per payment. Playtomic, MATCHi and Padel Mates don’t mention Direct Debit on their pages, so check with them.

Which app do players book in?

On Playtomic, MATCHi and Padel Mates, players book in the platform’s own app, where they also find other venues. ClubSpark members book in its Booker app. On Dyno, players book in the Dyno app inside your club’s own space, or on your club website.

Can some courts be members-only while others are pay and play?

Yes, in Dyno. Each court decides who can book it, so the show court can stay with members on particular tiers while the rest are open to anyone who pays for a slot. Court hours sell singly or in discounted packs.

Can we run Americanos, box leagues and coaching in Dyno?

Yes. Club nights, Americanos, box league fixtures, clinics and junior sessions run as bookable sessions with capacity caps, waitlists and attendance, on the same courts and in the same app as ordinary bookings.

What does Dyno cost for a padel club?

Pricing goes on members, not courts, so the number of courts never changes the bill. Court booking is included from Growth, at £99 a month, and every new club starts with 30 days of Pro, free, with no card needed. There’s no platform fee, only the processing rate on each payment.
