The best dance school software for UK studios in 2026

A dance school runs on terms, fees and parents. Its software has to enrol a whole term at once, collect fees without chasing, keep every dancer’s grades on record and give parents an app they open. Here’s how the platforms UK schools look at compare, and which suits whom.

What matters

What to look for in dance school software

A whole term in one booking

Selling the term as one block, with every class booked for each child, ends re-invoicing parents. Look for priority re-enrolment so returning families keep their place, and make-ups for missed classes.

Monthly fees on Direct Debit

Plenty of schools now charge monthly through the year. Direct Debit doesn’t expire like a card does, and usually costs less per payment. Check whether it’s built in or needs a provider you sign up to separately.

Exam grades on record

Your syllabus grades, RAD, ISTD, IDTA or your own, should sit against each dancer with every pass dated, so teachers can see who is ready to enter and parents can follow along.

One login for the whole family

Most dance parents have more than one child in classes. One parent account should enrol and pay for every child, without each child needing an email address of their own.

Show tickets in the same checkout

The end-of-term show is a big night for the school’s income. Check whether tickets sell where families already pay their fees, or on a separate site.

What every payment costs

Some platforms are free or cheap to start but take a fee on every payment. Work out a year of fees at your size and compare it with a flat monthly plan.

Class For Kids

Class For Kids (ClassForKids), now part of The Access Group, is UK booking software for children’s activity providers such as dance schools, gymnastics clubs, swim schools and football coaching. It handles term, camp and subscription bookings, registers and card payments through Stripe, on a monthly licence plus a transaction fee on every online payment, with no Direct Debit option listed. Its parent app shows a child’s timetable, while booking and paying happen on the website, and it is built for booking rather than a parent community or progression.

Best for: Providers who mainly need term and camp booking with card payments, and can do without Direct Debit.

Class Manager

Class Manager is class-management software for dance, gymnastics, swimming and cheer schools in the UK, the US and Australia, covering registers, scheduling, billing and a family portal with an iOS and Android app. It’s free to use because it takes a service charge on every payment processed online, so the cost grows with the school, and show tickets are sold through a separate sister site, Stage Stubs, rather than in the same checkout.

Best for: Schools happy to give up a service charge on every online payment for free software, with show tickets on a separate site.

M

My Dance School

My Dance School is UK software built only for dance schools, covering bookings and trials, registers, invoicing, consents, exam entries and showcase tickets. Parents use a portal branded to your school in their phone browser rather than an app, and payments are by card through Stripe, with a platform fee on each card payment on top of Stripe’s. Plans are priced by how many dancers you have.

Best for: Dance schools happy with a browser portal and card payments, without an app or Direct Debit.

C

Coacha

Coacha is UK membership and booking software for clubs of every kind, from athletics and swimming to dance studios and gyms, rather than one built around a single activity. Classes, block bookings and registers come as standard, but tracking skills, grades and badges is only on its top Custom plan. Cards go through Stripe and Direct Debit through GoCardless, which clubs usually sign up to separately.

Best for: Clubs that want a general club system and will pay for the top plan to track skills and grades.

FAQ

Common questions

What’s the best dance school software in the UK?

For a UK dance school that wants term enrolment, Direct Debit, exam grades and an app parents open, Dyno is built for exactly that. Class For Kids is built for booking, with card payments and an app that shows the timetable. Class Manager is free but takes a service charge on every payment and sells show tickets on a separate site. LoveAdmin, now Thrive4, adds a fee on payments to its subscription, and My Dance School keeps parents on a browser portal.

Is there free dance school software?

Class Manager’s software is free, funded by a service charge on every payment processed online, and Coacha Lite is free for up to 50 members with selected features. Every new school gets 30 days of Dyno Pro free, with no card needed, then plans start at £39 a month.

Which dance school software takes UK Direct Debit?

Of the platforms here, Dyno, Class Manager, LoveAdmin and Coacha collect Direct Debit. Dyno has it built in, through Stripe alongside card payments, at 1% + 20p capped at £4 per payment, and the money goes straight to your own bank account.

Can I track RAD, ISTD and IDTA grades in Dyno?

Yes, on every plan. Set up your grades the way your syllabus names them, RAD, ISTD, IDTA or your own levels, with a checklist of the steps for each. The roster shows each dancer’s grade and who is ready for the next, each pass is recorded with a note, and parents see the history in the app with a printable certificate for every grade.

Can parents book dance classes online?

Yes. Parents enrol for the term or book weekly classes in the Dyno app, and families who aren’t with you yet can book a trial class or buy show tickets on your school’s public page without downloading anything. When a class is full, families join the waitlist and see their place in the queue.

Does Dyno work for a stage school?

Yes. Each discipline runs as its own class or term course with its own register, so dance, drama and singing can sit side by side, and a parent enrols every child from one login. Shows run as ticketed events, with families buying tickets in the app or on the web and checked in on the door from any device.

How do I move my dance school to Dyno?

We move your families, children, classes and memberships across for you, free, and your old system keeps collecting until each family has moved. The easiest time is between terms. Direct Debits held with GoCardless move across in a Bacs bulk change, with nothing for parents to sign.
